Major Religions and languages of kashmir

1] The people of kashmir were doing Snake worshipping upto 800 B. C. and
they  were speaking local languages which are dead now .

2] They practiced Hinduism [800 B. C. –250 B.C.] and spoke Sanskrit.

3] They practiced Hinduism and Buddhism [250 B.C. – 1339 A.D. ] and continued  speaking Sanskrit.

4]They have been practicing Islam since 1339 A. D   and they have been speaking the following languages officially:
  I] Sanskrit upto 1450 A.D
II] Persian [ 1450 A.D. –1889 ]
III] Urdu [1889 – 2020 ]
IV]  Now, there are five official languages in Kashmir : kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi , Urdu and English.

* Lalitaditya [724- 760 A.D.] :He was a great kashmiri king who ruled kashmir,  North India , parts of South India , parts of central Asia and Afghanistan for a short period of time. However, Indian historians ignored him out of some unknown grudge . Some of them even don't mention him. 

 * Kashmiri Language : The first known kashmiri poets who wrote their poetry in kashmiri language are LAL DED [ 14th century A. D. ] , NUND RESHI [ 1377- 1440 A. D. ] and HABBA KHATOON  [ 1554- 1609 A.D. ] . Though kashmiri was never the official language in the valley of kashmir until recently,  yet the common masses loved to interact with one another in this beautiful language . It was loved , used and developed by common people, poets , Sufis , reshis and religious folk . The kings, ministers , gentry and other officials preferred other languages to the kashmiri language down the ages passed . They used Sanskrit, Persian , Urdu etc .  According to a survey, the kashmiri language  has now ten million speakers worldwide.
