Speech on child abuse

 

Honourable people on the podium and respected presentees , Asalamualaikum werehmatullahi webarakatahu.

I am ....... I study in class .....at muslim educational institute pampore.
The topic is '' It is easier to build strong children than to repair the broken men.

The prophet of islam has said , '' one who is unkind to children and disrespectful to elders is not among us .  He once  during leading the people in Salah heard a child crying , he finished that Salah faster and enquired about that crying child . He would not lift his head from the prostration until any kid mounted on His back would get down . In the light of these islamic facts , the prophet of Islam held the kids dearer and holier than than worship . 
We must not forget that the kids of today are the leaders of tomorrow. The  unhealthy kids of today are the unhealthy leaders of tomorrow.  The addicted , emotionally disturbed, socially awkward and educationally unfit kids are not good for the bright future of a nation.  The children are the 1/3 of our present and our total future . If we want to see how our glorious  future will be , we must look at the children today . My heart cuts deep to read about the child abuse in the  media . The child abuse starts from the day a child is conceived . If an expecting mother doesn't eat healthy food and necessary medicine in order to give birth to a healthy child , it is child abuse . when a newborn baby is sent to a child care institute and is not suckled by its  own mother , it is child abuse . Neglecting a child , rebuking a child and not loving a child duly is child abuse . The maltreatment in the early infancy follows a child  like a frightening shadow all his/her life .  Such children grow physically, psychologically, socially and emotionally unhealthy . They grow up as broken adults . It is a crime to hire or use kids as labourers . We must raise our voice against this crime .  We must involve the relevant authorities to stop oppression , injustice , exploitation and abuse of  children.  First of all , the children may suffer at the hands of insensitive parents . Secondly, they may suffer at schools and finally they may suffer at the hands of fellow citizens .
It is my wish that a law be made in every nation to stop the people who are not fit for good parenting from getting married . If a person can not look after a kid in respect of healthy food, clothes , shelter , medicine, education , love and affection, he/she must be banned from marrying and producing kids . Even animals do produce kids . The question is: can a person  do justice with his/her kids  ?  Bad parenting  is harmful for the peace , progress and prosperity of a nation if we think deeply . Bad parents must be punished publicly .  Some parents neglect a child on the basis of gender and colour . It is totally inhuman and unacceptable.
Next, the schools need to create a healthy environment for every child to feel comfortable and gain education successfully. The schools should not tolerate any discrimination on the grounds of creed , colour ,race and religion. Many surveys report that a huge percentage of children drop out of the schools only because the fellow students, teachers even the managements are unfair and cruel to them.  This needs to be changed in schools . 
There are some schools which are inattentive to the bad habits and addiction of their students. Consequently, the same infection spreads to good students also . A school which is supposed to be a place for teaching good manners and values ends up becoming something else . The students who are involved in bad manners and addictions must be properly guided . They should not be neglected. That will have serious consequences. As the saying goes , a single sinner sinks the boat . The teachers should make sure that the boat doesn't sink . Every boat that sinks causes a big loss to a nation . 
Finally, the people in general  need to take the responsibility of doing something constructive and positive for their respective nations . Many a times , children get wonderful parenting , beautiful schooling but the  outside society ruins them . All negatively influencing websites , all vulgar public places , wine shops , cigarette stalls , harmful drug stores must be closed down . It is time to speak against the hypocrisy . Our governments allow all harmful things to be sold in the markets as long as they receive bundles of notes as tax . This needs to be stopped. We must decide whether we need a few million rupees as tax or a healthy , wise , happy and prosperous nation .  To conclude, a child is the unit of a nation. Healthy children make healthy nations .  Happy children make happy nations . Subjugated and stifled children make weak and slave nations .
We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.”
