Speech on broken men

 

Honourable people on the podium and respected presentees , Asalamualaikum werehmatullahi webarakatahu.

I am ....... I study in class .....at muslim educational institute pampore.
The topic is '' It is easier to build strong children than to repair the broken men ''
. Who are strong children ?
According to me , the strong children are those who enjoy absolute freedom under the supervision of their parents and teachers .  A strong child wears the things of his choice, studies the books he likes , plays the games he enjoys and befriends the people of his type .  He is allowed to think freely and do  things freely . The elders can guide him but they have no right no impose things upon him . A suppressed and subjugated child grows up into an unfit  citizen . He/she grows up into a broken adult.

The second question that needs to be addressed is '' who are broken people?''  A broken person lacks in courage , confidence and enthusiasm. He/she lacks in boldness, bravery and broadmindedness. He is indecisive and introvert . He is fears to dream big and dream different. He is not visionary and foresighted. He abandons his own rights and dues . He lacks guts to stand up for what he believes in and desires to achieve .  He feels feared , suppressed and marginalised .  He is a follower and not a leader. He falls an easy victim to addictions and scandals. He is not a model citizen . And, we don't want our young generation to grow up like that .

Now , what are the solutions this human disaster?
The first and foremost solution is the right education . It is the duty of the teachers to inculcate right ideals and values into the children who will grow up into strong and healthy adults . It is said that a teacher   moulds the students into the bright citizens like a potter moulds the clay into beautiful utensils. It is education that enhances the value of human beings. In other words , it is the right education that turns ordinary people into the legends like Mother Teresa, Hatam Tai , George Washington, Nelson Mandela ,  Mohammed Ali Jinnah , Mahatma Gandhi etc . The main reason the  youth of today are deviating from the path of humanity towards the inhuman and brutal ways that  lead them into being rapists , druggists, blacksheeps, depressed and degenerative lot is that they don't get proper education at the schools and colleges. Their education is  totally marks- oriented. They may become successful businessmen, doctors, engineers , officers etc but they never become good human beings. They are cruel to their family members , colleagues and fellow citizens. They are black spots on the bright face of a nation . They are really broken people. They are hard to repair . We need to rescue the young generation from their poisonous and evil influence. Their influence is toxic and venomous. As Allama Iqbal puts it ,
Na hui zaag Mai piada buland parwazi

Kharaab Kar gayi Shaheen kay bachu ko suhab-e-zaag .

The second thing that a nation can use as a tool to build strong children and stop adults from breaking is cinema . Unfortunately, the cinema of today is teaching immodesty and violence to the minors . This needs to be overhauled .  A good movie is worth a few years of modern schooling . A Bollywood movie titled '' Three Idiots '' motivated thousands of dropouts across the subcontinent to resume their education. We need to suggest right movies and short films to the children to channelise their energy and creativity. We need to change our attitude towards cinema . We can't ignore this very powerful force . We need to utilise it .  We need to make a shift from narrow-mindedness to broadmindedness. Cinema can work miracles if used properly .

‌Finally, the adults need to stop interfering with the lives of minors . They can only suggest things to them . They have no right to impose anything upon minors . The adults are the outdated version of the children. The children will surely supersede their elders if allowed the necessary freedom . Freedom is what is needed by the children of today . Parents must not force their kids to study this , wear that , go here and adopt that. That is the worst child abuse . That is the worst  parenting. Parents can only guide their kids . They can't force them to do anything. If they use force , they are breaking and ruining their kids . The days of stick  and nettle are gone  . Every child has a unique talent that needs to be discovered and enhanced. Let your children breathe . Let them fly . Let them shine.  Inshallah, they will grow up into strong citizens and you  all will feel proud of them.
