The "theme" of the poem, Puff, the magic dragon

The poem titled "Puff the magic dragon" highlights the spirit of true friendship. True friends make one another's life exciting, interesting and enjoyable. They give a meaning to one another's life. However, when true friendship breaks due to death, breakup or other reasons, the life loses its luster, shine, taste and thrill. The same happens to Puff who loses his best friend Jackie. After the death of Jackie, Puff abandons frightening people, gives up roaring and returns to his cave permanently. The taste and thrill of his life ends with the death of his dearest friend, Jackie.
