Literary Devices used in the poem Apple-picking
Literary Devices used in the poem:
A) Enjambment : it refers to the Verse whose sense doesn't complete at the end of the line but runs on to the following verse. e. g.
But I was well
Upon my way to sleep...
B) Metaphor : indirect comparison. Here apples imply to dreams or tasks of the narrator, sleep to death, unfulfilled barrel to unfulfilled dreams
C) Synecdoche : when part is mentioned to represent whole. In poem, woodchuck represents the whole Nature
D) Hyperbole : it refers to overstatement or exaggeration.
There were ten thousand thousand fruit to touch
E) Epizeuxis: The repetition of a word or phrase to indicate "emphasis" e. g. Thousand, Thousand.
