Surah YOUSUF is an allegorical biography of prophet Mohammed pbuh

A thought provoking Facebook-status for the students of Islamic studies.

*The story of prophet Joseph (Yousuf) pbuh directly parallels the life of Prophet Mohammed pbuh*

_sahil sharifdin English_

Joseph (Yousuf) was loved by everyone.  Once He saw a special dream and disclosed it to His father.  His own relatives threw Him into a well.  He was taken out of the well by strangers and carried along to Egypt .  In the city of the strangers (Egypt) ,  he suffered a lot at the hands of immoral women,  went to jail, later release and raised to power. His enemies return to Him but He forgave them and accepted their apologies.  Thus, He was loved, hated and finally loved again.

Likewise,  our beloved Prophet Muhammad pbuh was loved by the people of Mecca until He declared His Prophethood. He saw Angel Jibreel in the cave (more like a dream) and disclosed it to His really caring wife.  He was jailed in sheeb-abi-Talib for three years.  Later,  He was taken away by strangers (People of Yasrub).  In the city of strangers,  HE was forced to fight battles, was badly injured once and  was once  poisoned also.  Many people gave Him the  option of beautiful wives, wealth and worldly power in return to quit teaching Islam but He preferred isolation and sufferings to such tempting option (Like Joseph preferred jail) .  Finally,  He got powerful, conqured Mecca and forgave His enemies and accepted their revertion to Islam.  He forgave them saying : I WILL NOT PUNISH YOU AND I WILL FORGIVE YOU AS JOSEPH FORGAVE HIS PEOPLE.

Thus the two prophets were loved, hated and loved again.
